Bryony Winn is president of health solutions for Elevance Health, where she uses her platform to champion and advance health equity, maternal health, and whole health across the healthcare system. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring that the tens of millions of people in Elevance Health’s family of health plans have access to high-quality, affordable care. Winn is accountable for total cost of care, clinical strategy, building and managing relationships with care providers, advanced analytics, and more. Previously chief strategy officer, Winn was the architect of Elevance Health’s enterprise strategy to become a lifetime, trusted health partner to stakeholders from across the healthcare ecosystem.
Before joining Elevance Health in June 2020, Winn was chief strategy and innovation officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. Prior to that, she spent a decade with McKinsey & Company providing strategic and operational counsel to a wide variety of clients across Europe and Africa. She relocated to the U.S. in 2011 as a partner in McKinsey’s Chicago office where she advised numerous healthcare CEOs and state leaders seeking to improve systems of care and transform payment models.
A native of Zimbabwe and Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, Winn was named to the Forum of Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum in 2019 as well as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Emerging Leaders list. In 2021, she was one of Business Insider’s 30 Under 40 in Healthcare and one of Fortune’s 40 Under 40.
Long active in supporting communities and helping to lead companies, Winn currently serves on the board of directors for two organizations, Unified Women’s Healthcare and BioCrossroads. A wife and mother to three children, Winn resides with her family in Indianapolis.
